Mosaic Jellies by Constantin Eich was developed with fofo studio for the opening of the Smeg store in Barcelona. The idea was to connect the brand with the city it was opening in, and the answer came from one of Barcelona's most recognisable crafts: Gaudí's trencadís, the mosaic of broken ceramic tiles that covers Parc Güell and Casa Batlló.

Instead of tiles, the mosaic is made of jelly. A pattern of irregular fragments was first developed digitally and then translated into silicone moulds. Together with Lea, Lauritz and Martha, hundreds of pieces in Smeg's pastel palette were cooked, poured, set and demoulded by hand, some of them carrying the Smeg logo.

For the opening, the fragments were puzzled together piece by piece on a pale blue plinth next to the brand's iconic appliances: an edible installation that guests could take apart and eat.
